Ways to Get Outside and Start Exercising and Feeling Better

It doesn't matter what time of year it is, you can always find an excuse not to go outside and exercise. Extreme temperatures are present. It's either raining or snowing outside.

Ok, I guess there are no more reasons not to.

Please Don't Blame the Weather

You are the one. You alone are to blame.

Why you aren't walking an extra thousand, or two thousand, steps around the neighborhood are typically attributed to the weather.

Anyone considering participating in the 30 Day Fitness Challenge would benefit greatly from performing their workouts outdoors on a regular basis.

Frank, my husband, found this website of minimalistic lines, and they immediately brought to mind the thing that prevents me from being physically active in the great outdoors. This thing called the Internet. Is it possible to quantify the time we devote to checking in on our social media accounts? Spending your time scrolling around Instagram or Facebook for cute cat photographs or watching funny cat videos?

Put down the smartphone or tablet and get outside for some exercise. Having you there will be a blast, believe me!

Strategies for Outdoor Exercise

For optimal health, doctors recommend daily physical activity of at least 30 minutes. Some people only have time for a brisk walk or run on the treadmill, but exercising outside is far superior if you can manage it.

Many types of outdoor recreation are available. Of course, not all of them are equally entertaining. Because exercising should be enjoyable, we've focused primarily on enjoyable options.

Spend some time catching up with someone while strolling.

Schedule a regular time to meet with your partner or a friend for a stroll around the block after work. It's a great way to get some exercise and catch up on the news at the same time. After spending 8 hours sitting at a desk at work, a short walk in the evening feels like a reward.

Take advantage of the weekend and have some fun.

During the week, we perform as many of our weekly tasks and errands as possible. Chores like doing the laundry and going to the grocery store take up a significant chunk of time, so they are typically done on weeknights after people get home from work. This leaves us with more time on Saturday to explore the numerous beautiful hiking trails in the Halton Region of Ontario (Burlington, Oakville, Milton).

Set Up a Meeting

We would both benefit from going on a trek or walk. Many of us work at desks. Some of the weight I've gained since getting married is attributable to Frank, my husband, who is a fantastic cook. On the weekends, instead of going out to breakfast, my partner and I like to pack a few snacks, our cameras, and go on a "date" hike.

I've included some suggestions for romantic hikes that are perfect for celebrating Valentine's Day.

Put Yourself to the Test with a Photo Shoot in Nature

As a result, you'll need to snap the pictures in natural light outside. Taking the best images is a pleasurable activity in and of itself, but it also provides a welcome opportunity to step outside and enjoy nature. While you may not be making rapid forward progress, you are still using muscle power as you clamber up and over rocks and roots on more rugged paths. To acquire the perfect shot, you'll need to choose the most advantageous woodland areas. Get out your cell phone or professional camera and start snapping away!

Take Advantage of Nature to Heal Your Body and Spirit

When possible, we take advantage of the outdoors for physical activity. Gardening appears to be our current obsession now that we own a home. We weren't big travelers before the birth of our son, but now that he's here, we can't wait to take him on adventures.

Outdoor exercise, such as hiking or cycling, has numerous mental health benefits in addition to helping you lose weight. You can't help but take a break from your gadgets and anything else is stressing you out.

In that case, why delay any longer? Get up and do something!
