One's Contentment is not the Ultimate Goal in
Life.
Many people mistakenly believe
that achieving personal fulfillment is the point of living. When bad things
happen, we might feel like our lives have no meaning if we believe that
happiness is the ultimate goal. The truth is that we'll all have to deal with
difficult situations and experience a lot of sadness and frustration.
The whole of life, including the
good and the bad, the positive and the negative, is what I must accept. And if
I can accept that, knowing that I'm developing as a result, then I can say that
I'm successful and content. Learning and developing into a better version of
yourself and expanding your horizons are central goals in life.
When confronted with adversity,
the first step is to accept the situation as it is. As soon as you learn to
accept your situation, you can begin to take the steps necessary to improve it.
By challenging yourself in this way, you will develop into a more complete
person. The point of living is to continue learning and developing as a person.
There are always two sides to a story. Knowing you need the other to be happy
is a priceless realization. To be happy, we must first accept this reality.
Finding Your Life's Calling is the Key to Contentment.
What makes us happy can be
anything that gives our lives meaning and direction. You feel good when you
have accomplished something or when you have helped another person who was
unable to open a door. Discovering what makes you happy and how to do it Here are
the two questions Alice recommends you ask yourself:
- When asked, "Where will I be teaching classes each day?"
- Ask yourself, "Where am I learning each and every day?"
Take some time to think about the
routine aspects of your life.
Whose upbringing do you most
closely resemble as a parent? Do you act as a bridge between people, such as by
referring them to a trusted individual, organization, or service? Do you offer
comfort or care to certain people? When you ask yourself these basic questions,
you begin to see how important you are to the world. Everyone can probably
relate to saying something like, "Oh, I'm learning from YouTube,"
"I'm teaching my child how to brush their teeth," or "I'm
teaching Executives how to coach." Simply by asking yourself some fundamental
questions, you can establish that your life has meaning. — This is Alice Inoue.
Being Confused Can Help You Figure Things Out
Later on in Life.
The future, like most things in
life, is cloudy and difficult to predict. We must come to terms with the fact
that life is inherently convoluted and will never be simple. Achieving the clarity,
we seek requires zeroing in on the one action that can be taken right now to
help us make progress. The things that are murky right now may help us see
things more clearly in the future.
A man approached Alice and shared
his financial woes with her. In his mind, if he had more money, he could buy
better presents for his loved ones. He claimed that the low wages at his job
were always an excuse. After that, Alice inquired, "Do you have a bank
account?" How about a savings account? What kind of credit card do you
have? And the answers he gave were all affirmative. When pressed, he admitted
that the real reason he didn't give lavish presents was that he simply
didn't care to. Not because he was strapped for cash, but rather because he
wanted to put something aside each month for his kids' education.

It takes time and more than one
optimistic thought to make progress toward mental clarity. It's a mental shift
that needs consistent practice over time. Because of our laziness, we tend to
accept anything that is said as true. Sometimes our minds are nothing more than
half a bunch of garbage because we believe things, we are told about but never
investigate. We should have known better after looking at our map. We need to
start pinpointing the flaws in our worldviews and the places in which our
search for answers is leading us astray. As we proceed in this manner, we will
gradually gain insight. We need to take stock of our current situation before
deciding how to proceed.
This interview with Alice will
help you gain insights to find clarity in your life if you're feeling lost and
overwhelmed, and from there you can start to figure out ways to work towards
the life and goals you want to have. It's not easy to find your life's calling
and fulfill it in a way that brings you joy. Yet you have the rest of your life
to improve upon who you already are through study and experience.
